Venturi Mask Teleflex

The Venturi mask is designed to deliver a specific concentration of oxygen to the patient. The oxygen passes through a thin nozzle at high speed into a chamber, which has side holes. With its flow, it creates negative pressure and air is drawn in through these holes, while the excess gas is expelled through the perforated cuff, ensuring that carbon dioxide is not inhaled. The oxygen concentrations that can be produced are 24%, 28%, 35%, 40%, or 50%.

There are advantages to adjusting the oxygen ratio, which is particularly useful for individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. In these cases, high oxygen concentrations can be harmful, especially with prolonged use. Additionally, humidification is necessary for this type of mask.

General Information about Venturi Mask Teleflex

The Venturi type oxygen supply mask consists of a mask with two large holes and a 15cm spiral tube. At the base of the tube, there is a central nozzle with a narrow opening for oxygen delivery, creating subatmospheric pressure, which allows atmospheric air to enter through small passages. The gas flow is designed to be greater than the patient's inspiratory flows with a constant concentration.
