This particular cooler came to replace a dinosaur that was at least 15 years old (Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro), for an AM4 socket and a midi tower. Since it was my first time changing a cooler, I had my doubts about whether I would manage, but in the end, everything went well. The whole process of unplugging the old cooler and installing the new one took me about half an hour, and I used the stock paste that came with the cooler.
Difficulty level: It's one thing to watch videos on YouTube for the installation with the motherboard in hand and another to install the cooler with the motherboard mounted in the computer case. Yes, there was a degree of difficulty in the installation, especially for a beginner; it wasn't anything terrible, but it was there. The tip is to first attach the upper part of the cooler to the plastic base (the ear, that is), then with a little pressure, the lower side, and then you lower the hooks up and down to secure it.
Negatives:
a. You have very little space, almost none, for your hands to work, especially at the top of the motherboard. Most of the work was done by feel to understand if the clip on the top side was engaged, and that's because you don't have visual contact.
b. I find it very little for BeQuiet that the pre-installed thermal paste comes loose with the cooler without any extra protection.
c. The fan attachment on the cooler with wires is completely silly (the clip system that Arctic has on its new coolers is very good), and the bad thing is that there is no second spare pair in the package.
Positives:
a. The processor temperature at idle with the old cooler was between 40 and 50 degrees; now I don't see it exceeding 40 degrees even when I ran 4-5 programs simultaneously (at idle it reached 28 degrees).
b. Very lightweight cooler, almost fake.
c. Provides very good cooling for those who prefer it for their processor. (I didn't try any stress test because I use it for office work, and I wouldn't be interested anyway).
d. Silent fan (I didn't expect anything less from this company).
Observations:
a. It requires delicate handling and not hasty movements with your hands because it's not unlikely to cause some damage to the other parts of the motherboard.
b. Care is needed when removing the old cooler to ensure your hands do not come into contact with its thermal paste, because wherever you touch afterward will need to be cleaned (motherboard, case, fans, clothes, etc.).
c. Good and thorough cleaning of any residue from the old paste that remained on the CPU, directed towards the center.
Η συγκεκριμένη ψήκτρα ήρθε να αντικαταστήσει έναν δεινόσαυρο τουλάχιστον 15ετίας (Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro), σε socket για AM4 και midi tower.
Επειδή ήταν η πρώτη μου φορά που θα άλλαζα ψήκτρα είχα τις αμφιβολίες μου αν θα τα καταφέρω αλλά τελικά όλα πήγαν καλά. Η όλη διαδικασία να ξεκουμπώσω την παλιά ψήκτρα και να εγκαταστήσω την καινούργια πρέπει να μου πήρε κοντά στο μισάωρο, και χρησιμοποίησα την stock πάστα της ψηκτρας.
Βαθμός δυσκολίας: Άλλο πράγμα να βλέπεις βιντεάκια στο YouTube για την εγκατάσταση της με την μητρική στο χέρι κι άλλο να κάνεις εγκατάσταση της ψηκτρας με τη μητρική κουμπωμένη πάνω στο case του υπολογιστή.
Ναι υπήρχε βαθμός δυσκολίας στην εγκατάσταση ιδίως σε αρχάριο, όχι κάτι τραγικό αλλά υπήρχε. Το tip είναι να κουμπώσει στην πλαστική βάση (στο αυτάκι δηλαδή ) πρώτα το επάνω μέρος της ψηκτρας, έπειτα με λίγη πίεση η κάτω πλευρά και μετά κατεβάζεις τα άγκιστρα πάνω και κάτω για να ασφαλίσει.
Αρνητικά:
α. Έχεις πολύ λίγο χώρο σχεδόν καθόλου για να δουλέψουν τα χέρια σου κυρίως στο πάνω μέρος της μητρικής. Πιο πολύ η δουλειά γινόταν ψηλαφητά για να καταλάβεις αν έπιασε το κούμπωμα στην πάνω πλευρά κι αυτό επειδή δεν έχεις οπτική επαφή.
β. Θεωρώ πολύ λίγο για την BeQuite η προεγκατεστημένη θερμοαγώγιμη πάστα να έρχεται χύμα μαζί με την ψήκτρα χωρίς να υπάρχει κάποια έξτρα προστασία.
γ. Το κούμπωμα του fan πάνω στη ψήκτρα με συρματάκια, εντελώς ανόητο (πολύ καλό το σύστημα κουμπώματος που έχει η Arctic στις καινούργιες της ψήκτρες) και το κακό είναι ότι δεν υπάρχει 2ο ανταλλακτικό ζευγάρι στη συσκευασία.
Θετικά:
α. Η θερμοκρασία του επεξεργαστή σε idle με την παλιά ψήκτρα έπαιζε μεταξύ 40 με 50 βαθμούς, τώρα δεν βλέπω να ξεπερνάει τους 40 βαθμούς ακόμη κι αν έτρεξα 4-5 προγράμματα ταυτόχρονα (σε idle έπιασε 28 βαθμούς).
β. Πάρα πολύ ελαφριά ψήκτρα σχεδόν ψεύτικη.
γ. Προσφέρει πολύ καλή ψύξη σε όσους την προτιμήσουν για τον επεξεργαστή τους. (δε δοκίμασα κάποιο stress test επειδή κάνω χρήση γραφείου και δεν θα με ενδιέφερε άλλωστε).
δ. Αθόρυβο fan (δεν περίμενα και κάτι λιγότερο από αυτή την εταιρεία)
Παρατηρήσεις:
α. Χρειάζεται λεπτούς χειρισμούς κι όχι βιαστικές κινήσεις με τα χέρια διότι δεν είναι και απίθανο να προκληθεί καμιά ζημιά στα υπόλοιπα κομμάτια της μητρικής.
β. Χρειάζεται προσοχή όταν αφαιρεθεί η παλιά ψήκτρα να μην έρθουν σε επαφή τα χέρια σας με την θερμοαγώγιμη πάστα της, διότι όπου ακουμπήσετε μετά θα χρειαστεί να καθαρίσετε (μητρική, case, ανεμιστηράκια, ρούχα κλπ.)
γ. Καλό και επίμονο καθάρισμα σε υπολείμματα της παλιάς πάστας που έμεινε πάνω στη cpu με φορά προς το κέντρο.
