  • Incoming Bandwidth

    This is the actual processing power of the recorder. It determines how much "load" (data) it can handle simultaneously from all cameras. A high number is necessary for many channels at high 4K resolution.


    • Example 1: You have 4 cameras of 5MP (each requiring ~8 Mbps). A total of ~32 Mbps is required. An NVR with 80 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth is more than enough.
    • Example 2: You have 16 cameras of 4K (each requiring ~12 Mbps). A total of ~192 Mbps is required. An NVR with 160 Mbps is not enough and will "lose" cameras or reduce their quality. Here, you need an NVR with at least 256 Mbps.

Capabilities

Hybrid CCTV recording system by Hikvision with Full HD+ resolution and 16 channels. Hybrid Video Recorders (HVR) can be connected to both analog cameras via coaxial cable and IP network cameras via Ethernet cable or wirelessly, provided both the recorder and the cameras support Wi-Fi connectivity. They are primarily used to replace older CCTV systems that were exclusively connected to analog cameras, allowing the addition of network cameras. The number of channels on a recorder corresponds to the number of inputs available for the wired connection of the system's cameras.

AcuSense Technology

Hikvision's AcuSense technology, now in its 2nd generation, is based on artificial intelligence algorithms and deep learning, which can classify (Target Classification) and identify objects appearing in the image, such as people, vehicles, rain, light, leaves, animals, and so on. From this large volume of information, AcuSense can distinguish people and vehicles, filtering out false alarms (False Alarm Reduction) that would otherwise be triggered by other non-threatening moving objects. Additionally, searching through recordings becomes much faster as the system can extract information about people and vehicles from the video stream.

H.265 Pro+ Video Compression

The recorder features H.265 Pro+ video compression (HIKVISION Smart Codec), specially developed for analog recorders, which is up to 8 times more efficient than H.264 and 4 times more efficient than H.265, for lower storage requirements on hard drives and faster transmission over the network.
