I bought it to connect my DVD player to a very good smart TV that didn't have a SCART input. The connection was successful, the sound is quite satisfactory, but the image has lost in quality, at least 25%, if I can say it numerically. It is more blurry and generally appears downgraded, no matter how good the quality of the DVD, the DVD player, and the connection cables are. I recommend it only if there is no other alternative. The job gets done, but the result is like watching a movie from 1970, just in color, on an old TV, those "boxes". It's a shame that the ultra-modern smart TVs don't have a humble SCART input for us dinosaurs who have large DVD collections from the medieval past. I would suggest, if you need a TV with a SCART input, don't buy a new one, not even a smart one (they weren't made to play and display DVDs), but head towards a second-hand website.
