I will present a conversation with a monastic elder from Mount Athos in the following pages. I had no intention of recording it. But one day, as I was preparing to read a work by Saint Maximus, I heard an inner voice urging me to write down the conversation I had with the wise Athonite monk. And I obeyed this voice, which I confess I had not previously cultivated.
I began to write as the thoughts came to me. Therefore, what follows are lines written in just a few hours, and I ask for the readers' forgiveness.
