The HD Nano multi-layer coating reduces reflections and ghosting, enhancing contrast in bright and backlit conditions.

The STM motor provides fast, near-silent autofocus with the option of manual override. Internal focusing helps ensure fast operation, while the aperture ring allows manual exposure control and features an A position for automatic aperture selection by the camera. The nine-blade aperture helps create bokeh.
