The Hartmann Putterbinde elastic bandage is designed for high compression and has approximately 90% textile elasticity. A reverse-spiral bandaging technique, according to the Pütter method, may help relieve congestion in the subfascial veins. It provides high working pressure with light resting pressure for prolonged compression.
It is used after sclerotherapy, as well as for acute and chronic venous stasis edema, leg ulcers, and thrombophlebitis. It can be washed at 95 °C and sterilized at 134 °C. Washing instructions are printed on the back end of the bandage.
