The father does not carry, does not give birth, does not breastfeed. However, his behavior towards the mother and later towards his own child is crucial for the child's psychological and emotional development. The father is the model of the man with whom the son may identify and the model of the partner that the daughter will likely seek in the future.

Our society tends to believe that "men do not cry". That they are emotionally absent, that they do not easily talk about what they feel or think. However, the stereotype of the distant father, the one who is indifferent to his children, has begun to change.

The editors of the book spoke with nineteen men of different ages and life paths. Through their meetings, nineteen different paths of fatherhood emerged. Can fatherhood ultimately be just as overwhelming, complex, enjoyable, or guilt-ridden as motherhood?

How is a father influenced by his own family, and how does he find his own identity as a parent today? How is the 21st-century father shaped, who is called to collaborate with a wife who is just as busy as he is?

What is certain is that by listening respectfully to a person talk about their life, all stereotypes collapse, while fatherhood emerges as an equally important dimension of child-rearing. Thus, we are called to meet a new father who is born together with his child, the father of the modern age.
