Wonderful, easy to read, somehow historical, keeping your interest on every page!! A big bravo!

Having the opportunity to belong to Mr. Krommydas' first reading group and having read his new book titled "Akakie" before its release, I want to present to you in a few words what I felt while reading it.
Let's take a journey together through time, reaching 1916. The heat and the smell of the harvested land reached my senses and it only took a few pages for me to immerse myself in the rhythm of the protagonists' lives, a life that was difficult but also beautiful. I have delved into the words of the book "Akakie" and the real events of the journey of a man whom I would have loved to have the chance to meet in person. It is a story based on the life of Lefteris Mantzikas, the man who revolutionized a pasta company, forever changing the future of the Greek and global pasta industry. Born in Ligopsa, Ioannina, he traveled to Athens with faith and determination. Not everything turned out as he had dreamed, but life is more interesting with its surprises... He encountered many obstacles. However, his hard work and determination justified all the sacrifices he had experienced until then. He fought for his homeland, for dignity, and for his integrity. He worked hard, taking risks and overcoming the fear of the unknown, turning it into a productive fuel that gave him the strength to continue. For Lefteris, ethics were the purpose, not the means to success. He was born with the talent for giving and benefiting others, and with his vision, he aimed to open new horizons. He carefully chose his most excellent collaborators and stood by them in both difficult and easy times, whether they were friends or strangers. The novel "Akakie" fills us with images of the past century. Through its unforgettable pages, you will imprison in your memory something from the golden wheat fields of Thessalian plain, the grandeur and splendor of old Athens, the characteristic smell of the food shops, the darkness of World War II, the Epirus laments, and the pervasive hospitality offered by the people of this land. However, you will also be moved by a pure, almost childlike love that developed into deep affection and support, as well as by the concepts of friendship and companionship that come to life. Kostas Krommydas, with determination to offer us another different reading experience, skillfully embroiders the events of the book's protagonist, narrating them in the first person. I admired the modesty with which real events intertwine with fictional descriptions, leading me to close the book wondering, "What makes life a good life?" It is a vivid and skillful reading that gives a captivating prose to characters, situations, and concepts. It is certain that the author knows how to tell a story in a way that makes you unable to put the book down.
