    I have a 17-inch gaming laptop from Asus (8GB RAM/4GB GPU/i7 CPU).
The game I tested the temperatures with was Forza Horizon 4.
And the CPUID application to monitor the temperatures.
I didn't see any difference in temperatures during gaming, I stayed at 94 degrees.
I've had it for 4 days. It may work better in lower ambient temperatures. Without knowing or having an opinion on other models, the fan (for me) has a low speed at max (I would have liked more) and it blows cold air but doesn't cool the laptop as much as I want (it may be far from my expectations in terms of what the product can deliver, but I'll explain below). I will try to find another position for the air to go directly to the vents, but I don't think it will make a drastic change.
It's a shame for the money spent.
It may be because it's summer, in November I will update the comment.
    So, the numbers:
In regular use when I'm on Chrome (YouTube, Mail, etc.) it ranges from 52° min to 78° max, fluctuating around 60° (both with and without the cooling pad).
In Forza Horizon 4, it ranges from 84° min to 96° max, fluctuating around 94° (during 40 minutes of gameplay) whether I use the cooling pad or not, meaning it doesn't do the job.
In conclusion, I do not recommend anyone to make this purchase.
