Description
One morning in May 2020, Irini and Maria, twin daughters of Pilar and Jason, fifth-grade students, are being taught remotely by their teacher, who lives on the fourth floor of the same apartment building. Shortly after, around noon, a meal on the fifth floor reveals the dogmatic moralizations of a religious family. That same afternoon, on the first floor, a mother verbally abuses her children while the couple on the second floor, around seventy, argues with the usual insults of people who have turned their shared life into unbearable cohabitation with strangers. All these characters realistically reflect the contemporary middle-class Athenian society in which small children, like those of Pilar, are growing up. Online services are present and serve as an underutilized educational factor that simply adds to the behavior of the crowd, the "neighborhood." Pilar stands against all this.
