The book features more than 2100 couplets, recorded as they sound when spoken in Pontic, as a result of a continuous and long-term struggle by the author, for decades, in gathering information from older refugees of the first and second generations, whom he happened to meet and live with, documenting as much and as best as he could, from his youth to the present day.
The author's goal is to highlight the richness and depth of the words, concepts, emotions, etc., contained in traditional Pontic couplets, stimulating the imagination and emotional disposition of each poet, regardless of the time period, and to present his personal effort to somehow mimic the older ones, expressing in his writings feelings and thoughts, to the extent that this could be achieved within his fifteen-syllable verses, and beyond.
At the same time, the author records the themes that arose from the exchange of populations, according to the Treaty of Lausanne on 30/1/1923, for these people in their new homelands, as "exchangeable" refugees.
