Description

Agnieta Brueman bids farewell to her grandchildren as they leave her white villa in Stockholm when the landline phone rings. On the other end of the line, only one word is heard in German, "Geiger" – "Violinist".

For years, Agnieta has trembled at the thought that this moment would come, knowing very well what it means. She takes her gun from its hiding spot, screws on the silencer, and slips behind her unsuspecting husband. She pulls the trigger and immediately disappears, leaving her wallet and keys behind. Although this murder does not fall within her jurisdiction, Detective Sara Novak is the best fit to solve the case. She grew up with the Brueman family, nearly as their "third" daughter, and knows them better than anyone else. However, what Sara doesn't know is that her investigation will lead her into a whirlpool of revelations regarding the true identity and dark past of those she considered her family…

The phone rang four times. "Yes?" "Geiger is dead." A tiny pause, a pause for half a second, and everything became clear. "I have no idea what you're talking about. You must have the wrong number." "Listen to me," he said hurriedly before she could hang up. "You need to cooperate if you want to live. We're in the same situation. Geiger is dead. I know who did it and they won't stop. Hide, don’t open the door, don’t answer the phone. I will be near you in eight hours. I will send a message from this phone when I am outside your door."
