In the Greek language, "demythologization" refers to the removal of the myth, the veil that covers the naked truth, revealing the real image—without embellishments—of a person, object, or situation.

Motor sports (and not only) are filled with myths. Myths are necessary to capture the interest of "ordinary mortals," so that their "idols," the drivers, can be placed on unattainable pedestals, as they perform "mythical" driving, overturn natural laws, are fearless, tireless, demi-gods, infallible, and… other stories with monsters.
