The fabric is thick and sturdy, it does not shed or smell. It seems that it indeed has at least 2 distinct layers, one being the outer and one being the inner.     In terms of size, it might be a bit small for someone with a larger face. The elastic bands are comfortable, they are not the typical elastic but they are flat and strong without applying pressure, although they are not very stretchy, so that's why I mentioned the size possibly being smaller for some.

    I believe they are one of the best surgical masks, especially considering the price. They are shipped in a nylon bag inside a box.
