Description

The masterpiece of George Orwell in comics. A modern classic, one of the most famous works of fiction of the 20th century, comes to life and motion with this outstanding adaptation for all ages.

Written during World War II and published in 1945, George Orwell's work is one of the most captivating narratives of our time, a universal allegory for the mechanisms of power and the weaknesses that lead to the corruption and degeneration of great ideas and plans for political revolution.

“This book tells us that those who relinquish their freedom in exchange for some promises of security end up with neither.” Tired of the exploitation to which they are subjected by humans, the animals of Animal Farm revolt against their owner and take over the farm, aiming to create a cooperative system of equality based on the slogan “Four legs good, two legs bad.” However, it does not take long for some animals – the cleverest, the pigs – to begin enjoying special privileges, restoring a regime of oppression.

The story of the liberal rebellion of the animals is rewritten to justify the new tyranny, and dissenters either disappear or are silenced by force. With acrylic ink, transforming each page into a true work of art, the comic artist and painter Odyr has shaped and colored this "farm tale," which, according to English author Malcolm Bradbury, “is the best satire ever written on the dark side of contemporary history.”
