Confucius was the first great teacher on the subject of leadership. He is usually classified among philosophers, but, like his almost contemporary Socrates, he was actually a practical philosopher. Thanks to the modern transcription system, today the Chinese refer to him as Kongzi. His followers and students simply called him "the Master." And in Chinese culture, he is regarded as the Master of Masters.
