This book describes the process of Environmental Impact Assessment of public and private projects followed in Greece. It is aimed at experienced Environmental Impact Assessors but primarily at future assessors, students of relevant departments at our country's universities.

It takes the form of a teaching manual, with exercises, tasks, and questions. In summary, it contains:

• Extensive description of international practices in Environmental Impact Assessment, as well as European and Greek legislation.
• Presentation of how to check the permissibility of the location of a project in a specific area.
• Presentation of methodologies for determining and assessing the magnitude of potential impacts of a new project on the environment.
• Description of potential impacts from air emissions, noise emissions, and electromagnetic radiation, as well as from the production of liquid and solid waste.
• For each impact, presentation of potential measures, terms, and restrictions for preventing or mitigating the impacts.
• Detailed description of the contents of the Environmental Impact Study and the Special Ecological Assessment.
