In the early 1980s, Andreas Papandreou was chosen by the Greek people to realize the "Change," a political and social vision that reflected the deep-seated need of Greek society for extensive changes in every aspect of the country's social, political, and economic life. The "Change," as a political proposition, had never been heard of in the modern and contemporary history of the country. Therefore, Andreas Papandreou became the bearer and messenger of a slogan whose implementation caused transformative changes in Greek society. It is a fact that certain politicians, either through their charismatic public speaking or their ability to captivate the people, monopolize the era in which they live, while simultaneously creating the conditions to become figures of History. Such a case was Andreas Papandreou, who navigated the political life of the country with the aim of serving the national interest and his deeply rooted perception of true social justice in Greek society. The book From the Greece of Change to the Greece of Decline reflects the transition from the Greece of Andreas Papandreou (in the 1980s) to the Greece of the last decade (2009-2020). Through its lines, an effort is made to better understand the reasons for the gradual degradation, that is, decline, of the country's political, economic, and military power over the last ten years.
