Relatively easy to install but sometimes its prints are frustratingly slow! Especially if it's a PDF or a colored photograph...

I recently bought it from a large retail chain.
There was an HP promotion for cashback (€40) as well as a gift voucher from the store. It also came with a free ink cartridge.
The price at the time was (€169)

    positives +

    easy installation
    easy menu and touchscreen
duplex printing and scanning, which is the reason I bought it
it has a rewards program for ink called instant ink, which for this device gave six months of free ink
I already received the first cartridges within three days

    negatives -

The plastics do not seem very good, nor do the sounds it makes, especially when I installed the inks and when I did duplex scanning, which were slightly worrying
    Relatively slow
Overall, I am satisfied and would recommend buying it for someone who wants light use and can do everything: duplex scanning and printing in color and black and white, provided they buy the device with this HP cashback offer

In 1.5 years, the print head (ink cartridges) got damaged, which costs almost the entire machine... it's going for recycling..!!!

I bought this printer after an Hp Officejet Pro 8600. The installation was not the easiest. You had to download the drivers from HP and it took you wherever it wanted. You had to connect to HP to create an account to continue. Of course, by creating an account with HP (to continue the installation), you "agree" to only use genuine ink cartridges and this choice cannot be undone. (I later searched to find where it says that and couldn't find it). In order to be able to print remotely, of course, you need to have an account (understandable) but again it doesn't clearly state that afterwards you won't be able to use ink cartridges from another manufacturer. Also, the following happened: While I was printing normally with genuine ink cartridges, a message appeared saying that the ink cartridges (blue, red, yellow) "have been used before. Use genuine HP ink cartridges to continue". After contacting support, they asked if I had the receipts for the ink cartridges in order to return them. I said no, of course, and they said they couldn't do anything. Of course, it is clear that the ink is genuine and when I installed it, so what is the proof for? Note that I have had the printer since 27/9/22 and now it is 2/23, so there is no issue of expired ink. I signed up for the Instant Ink program for one month for 50 prints for €3.99 and after the first 5 prints, I put the (problematic) ink cartridges back in and it worked normally. The message still remains that they are genuine but have been used before. However, it is functioning now without freezing and not allowing me to print. Also, for the warranty extension, it is still 1 year because it is the 9012e and not the regular one. I never understood the differences between the two, which I also couldn't find anywhere.
    In the pros:
    Quite fast
    Automatic double-sided printing
Scanning on both sides without needing to reinsert the pages
Network connectivity with Ethernet or Wi-Fi (I prefer Ethernet)
Good print quality even in draft mode.

Unbelievable ink usage, and the best part is that if one color runs out but you only want to print in black at some point, it just won't let you. Spend 250 euros on ink that you won't even use.
Pathetic. I should have just bought a cheap black printer instead
