The Dune Imperium board game by Dire Wolf combines deck-building and worker placement in a strategic battle for power. Players lead Great Houses on the hostile planet Arrakis, where political intrigue and military conflict offer different paths to victory.
Buying cards expands the available options, while careful resource management can bring greater rewards. Players collect spice from the desert and gain influence with powerful factions, which can strengthen their efforts or lead to defeat.

Excellent game, its rise to the top of the global rankings is not random! Of course, some board game background is required for the brain to digest it, but for what it offers, it is considered friendly to the average player.
The game was given to me by my brother and I played it for the first time yesterday, and I can say that it is an amazing game. Anyone who has played Cyclades and enjoys that style will definitely love this! In terms of rules, it has quite a few things, but they are the mechanics of the game. At first, they may seem complicated, but as you play, they become simpler and you quickly understand them. It involves strategy, resource management, battles, and thinking, and you are fully engaged. It's great for a group and addictive for kids! I highly recommend it. The price may be a bit high, but it's worth it and more! We played with 3 people and it was chaotic but a good kind of chaos. I can't imagine what it would be like with 4 :P It's a crazy game, guys!
Update 16/1/2024: After playing it a lot, we bought the expansions Rise of Ix and Immortality. We haven't played the second one yet because we have collected many other more exciting games, and we usually gather at least 5 people for our sessions, so our little Dune game has been left on the shelf... Nevertheless, it remains a top game that deserves to be in your collection. However, I would recommend going straight to Uprising, which is a reissue of this game with the ability to play up to 6 players and some additional extras that I can't remember to write down. Also, the expansions play normally!
The board game is excellent! It combines two very solid mechanisms of tabletop games, worker placement and deck building, in a very player-friendly way. It is very difficult to get bored with it, as each game is unique due to the aforementioned mechanisms. Once players get accustomed to the game, the flow is very smooth. The game ensures that it finishes on its own after specific rounds, which prevents it from becoming tedious. It is an unequivocal recommendation for anyone interested!
Deck building & worker placement mechanisms are seamlessly combined in one of the best games of recent years. It will be easily played even by non-hardcore gamers. It is not necessary for someone to be familiar with the lore of Dune, but even if they have only seen the movie, they will still immerse themselves even more in the theme of the game.
Buy without a second thought.
Excellent. Especially with the expansion Rise Of Ix, it gains more depth and many options in actions and strategies.
