Aclonifen has limited movement within the weeds, while biochemically it acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of carotenoids. It acts mainly on the shoots, which are more sensitive in young weeds that have recently germinated or are in rapid growth. After the application of CHALLENGE 600 SC, the weeds show bleaching and chlorosis of the young shoot as it develops.
