Insecticide, belonging to the new chemical group of tetramic acids, exhibiting a new mode of action (inhibitor of lipid biosynthesis). It shows stomach action against target pests.
After application, spirotetramat penetrates the leaves and, with its double systemic action (upward & downward / acropetal & basipetal), it moves throughout the entire plant. It primarily affects immature stages, which are trapped between two molts and are killed because they cannot progress to the next developmental stage.
It also reduces the ability of female insects to reproduce and the viability of their offspring. Applications should be made early and promptly in order for spirotetramat to penetrate the plants and halt the progression of the infestation.
