Description

No one ever asked me what the name "Zarathustra" means to me, the first amoralist in history, although they should have, as it is diametrically opposed to what the unique and unparalleled historical presence of this Persian signifies.

Zarathustra was the first to understand that the driving force of all humanity is the struggle between good and evil. The elevation of ethics to a metaphysical entity, specifically to power, cause, and end in itself, is his work. [...] He bears exclusive responsibility for this disastrous error, the invention of morality. Therefore, he must be the first to acknowledge it.

His doctrine, and only this, considers that the highest virtue is honesty, standing in stark contrast to the cowardice of the "idealist," who flees from reality [...] Am I clear? The overcoming of morality by its own self, wielding the weapon of honesty, the overcoming of the moralist by his own self, transformed into its opposite - that is, into me - this is what I mean every time I pronounce the name Zarathustra.

Don't expect something easy in a book. You got Zarathustra... The author wants to say one thing, we read another, and understand something else.

That being said, this particular edition has a hardcover and a not-so-modern character, which I consider a plus because it gives character to the binding.
