Description

Based on the guidelines of the ACM's exemplary curriculum, this readable and user-friendly book covers all the fundamental concepts of Computer Science that first-year students pursuing a degree in Computer Science need to know.

The book "Introduction to Computer Science, Second Edition" is divided into five parts - computers and data, computer hardware, computer software, data organization, and an introduction to some more advanced topics - and provides students with a broad overview of the specific field of study.

Each chapter includes key terms, summaries, review questions, multiple-choice questions, and exercises that help reinforce the material, while also presenting tools such as UML, structure diagrams, and pseudocode, which students will need to successfully complete courses in later semesters.

Written for students and faculty, the new edition of the book includes more images, examples, exercises, as well as selected solutions and a test bank with knowledge assessment questions.

This review is about a variation of the product

One of the best introductory computer books (if not the best), very well-written.

It should be read in its entirety, page by page, by every computer science student.

Of course, it is introductory and does not delve deep, but it gives you an idea of the basic concepts of Computer Science in a nice and simple way.

Forouzan doesn't need any special recommendations, he is one of the greatest in the field.
