Marianne and Elinor Dashwood, after a great loss, are forced to radically change their lives, to forgo all comforts, and to seek security through marriage. Their mission should be one: to find wealthy husbands.
Marianne, the younger sister, "represents" sensitivity. She falls deeply in love with the charming but unsuitable and unreliable John Willoughby. Unable to tame her emotions, she disregards social rules. She even ignores her sister's warning that her behavior is giving others a reason to comment. Where will her explosive personality lead her?
At the same time, Elinor is logical and mature. She always follows social conventions, but now she is forced to make an effort to hide – even from her closest loved ones – her own romantic disappointment. Until when will she suppress her true feelings?
In an era where social class and financial status govern the rules of love, the two sisters will carve their own path towards personal happiness.
