A child might ask: "What is the meaning of the history of the world?" And an adult, man or woman, might wonder: "What future will the world have? How does this whole story end, and, truly, what is its meaning?"
I believe that this whole story is the same, the one and only, that has always frightened and moved us, and so we live continuously, captivated and with our thoughts focused, a cinematic film with successive episodes that have no end. People are caught – in their life, in their thoughts, in their desires and ambitions, in their pettiness and cruelty, but also in their kindness and generosity – in the net of good and evil. I think this is our only story, and that it unfolds on all levels of sensitivity and intelligence.
