It does a decent job assisting with air conditioning because it blows the cold air that sits on the floor. It is also lightweight, making it suitable to take with you camping. I have two other standing fans at 50w, similar to this one, that operate at the first speed like this one does at the second speed, and with less noise. The noise is significant and this is again due to the 30 cm size. Conclusion: Get a standing fan at 50w or preferably at 60w to cool down.
