Description

Description

New generation BG Monocoque designed by Daiwa for a 100% waterproof gear system, significantly increasing their lifespan. A new mechanism has come to meet the demands of both land and boat fishing.

At a glance

  • Reel: Aluminum Monocoque
  • Bearings: 6
  • Weight: 430gr
  • Drag: 12kg
  • Retrieval Speed: 5.7:1
  • Capacity: 0.43mm/150m
  • Tough Digigear gears
  • ATD Carbon drag system
  • No external reverse
  • Aluminum Monobloc handle
  • HARDBODYZ aluminum body
  • Double Silent oscillation System

Monocoque (MQ)

With Monocoque technology, the body of the BG is a rigid and inflexible tool, which is simultaneously easy to use and disproportionately powerful. It provides stability in its operation, perfect synergy of all its mechanical parts, and allows the use of larger gears.

Its waterproofing is excellent and is another advantage of the unified Monocoque body.

Significant reduction in the weight of the mechanism, but with an increase in its strength, has been achieved through technology. The "Monocoque" frame is a new proposal, mechanically designed, symmetrical body.

Digigear Reels

The digitally designed gears (DigiGear) ensure perfect alignment in the collaboration of the mechanical parts of the drive shaft, offering speed, power, durability and seamlessly combining with the Air Rotor technology, where the compact rotor allows air movement between all components.

Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD) Brake System

It stands out for its high-performance Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD) braking system, which provides greater initial resistance and more progressive action thereafter. The recently redesigned Tough Digigear technology includes a larger-than-normal drive gear, which increases retrieval power and the lifespan of the mechanism.

The ATD braking system operates instantly and applies the selected power to the spool, without any delay when the rotation begins.

The ATD braking technology gives you immediate control of the operation and provides maximum resistance, while offering better protection for the fishing line and thread.

Aluminum HARDBODYZ Body

Special aluminum alloy that makes the body and mechanical parts rigid.

Double Silent oscillation System

The Silent Oscillation technology is considered one of the most fundamental technological functions in the mechanisms of the Japanese company. It provides superior rotational flow of the mechanism and exceptionally quiet operation.

This review is about the size: 4000

Very beautiful mechanism, good ergonomics and comfortable in how it sits in the hand. Very smooth in the retrieve due to the large gear and for spinning I would give it 5 stars if it cost 50 euros less, as at the price levels of, for example, a Stradic FM, there is no reason for someone to choose this mechanism. Since I used it once and only for light shore jigging with lures of 20-30g, I have to say that the smoothness has been lost since the first fishing... at the same time I have a Nasci 5000 which I used for this job and it hasn't been affected as much even though I've used it several times... the Zync cast gears are just fine and keep the cost levels low, but they will never be cold forged aluminum, nor of course steel, like the Slammer IV DX which is also priced around there... Therefore, it loses one star for the price it costs and one for its gears, since Daiwa has remained on this issue somewhere around 2016...

This review is about the size: 10000

Although it is a large-sized reel, it conceals its weight and bulk due to the MQ technology. Visually, it is flawless and there is no room for criticism. The initial resistance is lower than that of the Saragossa SW, which I also use for fishing, and it has power in the rotation without tiring. However... at this price point, all its serious competitors come with better quality gears than the cast zinc material that Daiwa has used here... With cold forged aluminum for the Gosa and the fully steel internals of the Penn Slammer IV DX, we get, it is true, a better overall reel than the BG MQ without a significant difference in price... for me, it is a foul by Daiwa, because it undermines its name here and along with it, an amazing reel in appearance and functionality...
