The history of the patriarchal orders of excellence of the ancient Orthodox Patriarchates of our East is a particularly interesting chapter in the overall ecclesiastical history and the study of the life and actions of Orthodoxy, in its ancient homelands.

In this context, we systematically dealt with the history of the Order of the Orthodox Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, one of the most official and well-known Orthodox ecclesiastical orders.

The fact that, despite the awarding of many significant personalities with this distinction, very little was known about its history and formation made the writing of this volume even more necessary.
