Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo (San Fernando, September 20, 1968), widely known as Monchi, has become a reference point of international stature. He is one of the few legends of modern football who did not become a song on the lips of fans, as a player, but while wearing his jacket and jeans.
He is a self-taught football director, who was appointed to this position as a stopgap solution at a time when Sevilla's finances were empty and the team was unable to meet its financial obligations. Monchi achieved the unthinkable with a team that had never experienced such success at the European level.
This book, which straddles the line between an academic manual for a successful business model and a summary of unpublished stories about transfers and the tumultuous world of professional football, aims to reveal the ins and outs of a job that moves hundreds of millions of euros every year and which is capable - depending on whether it is done wisely or not - of elevating or burying the passion of the fans.
One could say that it is more than just a football book. Monchi does not teach coaching; that is not his job. However, he teaches business methodology, self-improvement, and the systematization of a model that showed from the outset that it would be successful, but would not succeed if the human factor, Monchi, did not constantly intervene among the excels, the software, and all those talent and player evaluation programs.
