It is a high pressure sodium lamp of 70w medium efficiency that provides 5800 lumens, which means 84 lumens/watt efficiency. It has an average lifespan of 28,000 hours and is capable of satisfactorily lighting an area of up to 60 square meters. It can illuminate a small garden or street. Quite fast ignition in about 3-4 minutes approximately with a magnetic ballast, but with an electronic ballast it is in the range of 1:50-2:10 minutes to maximum performance. Generally, with an electronic ballast, all high pressure sodium lamps start 2 to 3 minutes faster! ALSO, WITH AN ELECTRONIC BALLAST, THERE IS NO NEED FOR A STARTER AND A CAPACITOR AS THE ELECTRONIC BALLAST OPERATES AS A STARTER ON ITS OWN. If you want something better, get the PHILIPS version (master son-t pia plus) which is used worldwide on many roads usually of this model. I trust these lamps, but not mercury vapor (MV) and low pressure sodium (LPS) lamps, which lag in all characteristics compared to high pressure sodium (HPS) lamps!!! If you don't mind the yellow-golden 2000K light and want a lamp that will last you for 20 years, high pressure sodium lamps are the best option, but not mercury vapor as they are energy consuming, nor low pressure sodium which have monochromatic orange-yellow light, although they are very difficult to find. Otherwise, if you want to switch to LED that will truly last for years, you have to spend a lot of money, which will then be worth 100%.
