Description

Tenth-grader Yugi always had his head in some game--until he solved the Millennium Puzzle, an Egyptian artifact containing the spirit of a master gambler from the age of the pharoahs! Possessed by the puzzle, Yugi becomes Yu-Gi-Oh, the King of Games, and challenges evildoers to the Shadow Games...weird games with high stakes and high risks!

The diabolical Player Killer, Pegasus' second gaming assassin, challenges Yugi to a duel of darkness! In the shadow of the Castle of Dark Illusionscard, an army of lurking monsters hungers to steal Yugi's life points, and if he loses, his actual life! As the tournament continues the action moves underground. Trapped in the tunnels beneath Duelist Kingdom, Yugi and Jonouchi must conquer the maze of the Meikyu Brothers in a two-on-two duel. Waiting in the Brothers' deck is the Gate Guardian, lord of the underworld and one the most powerful monsters of all.

  • This review is about the add to your collection: Vol. 1

No relation to the anime. The manga is more serious and presents a harsher reality, something that seems to have been 'smoothed out' in the anime for a younger audience. It places greater emphasis on the importance of games and strongly highlights the power of friendship. The two aspects of Yugi are presented more realistically, with the story taking a different path compared to the anime. Each duel keeps you in suspense, making you wonder what he has thought of in order to win in the end.

Excellent but not for children. Nothing to do with the children's version. Much darker and harsher.
