    Technical specifications of my system:
    Case: CoolerMaster MasterCase H500M
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Motherboard ATX
    GPU: Inno 3D GeForce RTX 3080 10GB ICHILL X4
    RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB DDR4-3600MHz (F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC)
    SSD 1: Samsung SSD 980 Pro 500GB
    SSD 2: Kingston A2000 SSD 1.0TB M.2 NVMe
PSU: Corsair HXi Series HX1000i 80 Plus Platinum
    Cooling: CoolerMaster MasterLiquid ML360R RGB
Monitor: Gigabyte G34WQC Curved Gaming Monitor 34" QHD 144Hz

The aforementioned graphics card (Inno 3D GeForce RTX 3080 10GB ICHILL X4) was purchased on June 29, 2021 for €1550 and was first used with the above system on July 1, 2021. I mainly use the computer for video and photo editing (DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, After Effects...), but I also use it for gaming quite often. During the first few months of operation (July-August), I noticed that when I entered my password on the Windows login screen, the screen would freeze for a second or two while the computer loaded to the desktop. In September, this problem extended to other functions within the computer. For example, when I was simply browsing the internet, the screen would periodically freeze for a few seconds and then resume. By October, this problem continued and became increasingly worse, to the point where I couldn't do my work (I had lost hours of work in DaVinci several times). Specifically, when I tried to log in to my computer, the screen would freeze and the entire system would become unresponsive. Since my processor does not have integrated graphics, I couldn't load Windows and access my desktop. I noticed the same problem when playing games. At first, I thought it was a faulty driver. I tried installing some of the older Nvidia drivers with DDU, which were potentially more stable, but the problem persisted. Ultimately, I had to return the card to the store for inspection. After about a week, they contacted me and told me that the card was defective. Of course, this doesn't mean that all cards are defective, but rather that I was unlucky... or maybe not?? With a little research on forums, you will find many cases of users who had a similar problem to mine. The cause lies in the way these cards are manufactured by third-party manufacturers (e.g. Asus, Gigabyte, INNO 3D, etc.). Each card (RTX 3080, 3090) consists of 6 capacitors, which are the final stage of power before reaching the chip. These capacitors come in two types, POSCAP and MLCC. The original Nvidia specification includes 4 POSCAP and 2 MLCC, just like the founders edition card. However, some manufacturers, possibly to save money, use 5 or even 6 POSCAP, as shown in the photo. The problem with these capacitors is that they are easily affected by high frequencies. So when the GPU exceeds 2 GHz, all the problems start. According to Nvidia, this problem was supposedly fixed with a driver update a while ago, but there are still some cases where it persists. Again, this doesn't mean that all these cards have the same problem, but it's now a matter of silicon lottery. Finally, the company compensated me and with the same amount of money (€1530) I bought the AMD RX 6900XT and the computer now performs excellently in all areas. Unfortunately, I cannot have a real picture of the performance of the RTX 3080 because simply I couldn't complete any benchmark without crashing... For me, it is unacceptable for someone to spend so much money and face problems that are due to such causes, when with the same amount of money they can buy equivalent cards that do the same and even better job.
