The published two-volume work includes the critical edition of the Prologue and the first two Books of the Anti-Palamite treatise by John VI Cantacuzenus.

As a monk now under the pseudonym Christodoulos, he writes in 1367 a very extensive theological text to criticize and refute the anti-Palamite theology.

He selects the first four books "Against the Heresy of the Palamites" by John Kyparissiotes, that is, the quintessential anti-Palamite text of the era, and he presents it verbatim while systematically attempting to overturn it.

Therefore, it is about two works, one within the other, a kind of theological dialogue that thoroughly and accurately reflects the arguments of the two opposing factions and enriches the anti-Palamite literature of the 14th century, as it constitutes one of the quintessential texts defending the Palamite doctrine.
