  • Type

    NVR

Recorder that uses IP cameras and network connection for video recording and management.

  • Incoming Bandwidth

This is the actual processing power of the recorder. It determines how much "load" (data) it can handle simultaneously from all cameras. A high number is necessary for many channels at high 4K resolution.

    • Example 1: You have 4 cameras of 5MP (each requiring ~8 Mbps). A total of ~32 Mbps is required. An NVR with 80 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth is more than enough.
    • Example 2: You have 16 cameras of 4K (each requiring ~12 Mbps). A total of ~192 Mbps is required. An NVR with 160 Mbps is not enough and will "lose" cameras or reduce their quality. Here, you need an NVR with at least 256 Mbps.

  • HDD Slots

The number of internal hard drives (SATA) that can be installed simultaneously in the recorder.

  • Maximum Capacity per Disk

The maximum size (in TB - Terabytes) of the hard drive that the device "recognizes" and supports in each slot.

  • Ports

    VGA

An analog video output. Used to connect the recorder to older computer monitors.

    HDMI

The digital output for video and audio. It is the standard way to connect the recorder to a modern TV or monitor (PC) and view your cameras in high resolution.

    USB

Its main use is to connect a mouse for menu navigation and settings. Additionally, it is used to connect a USB stick (flash drive) in order to export (take a backup of) specific video clips that interest you.

    Alarm Output

Physical ports (terminals) that allow the recorder to give a "command" to external devices. For example, "As soon as I detect a person, activate an external siren or turn on the lights."

  • Video Compression

    H.265

Advanced codec with approximately 50% better compression than H.264 for the same quality. Ideal for 4K and 8K content, supports HDR and UHD, significantly reducing the required bandwidth.

    • The standard supports approximately 30–35 days of continuous recording on a 2TB hard drive

(The values and durations are indicative and based on standard settings. Actual performance may vary depending on resolution, frame rate, scene motion, and hardware.)
