Acoustic Woods & Handmade Construction

The Yamaha VC5S cello is crafted with attention to detail, using carefully selected natural woods that ensure acoustic resonance and stability. The solid spruce top offers a quick response and clarity in the high frequencies, while the solid maple back and sides enhance the depth of the low frequencies. The body is hand-finished with traditional oil varnish, which protects the wood while allowing it to vibrate freely.

Ebony Fittings & Fine-Tuning System

The fingerboard and tuning pegs are made of natural ebony, offering resistance to wear from string friction and a stable feel while playing. The metal tailpiece features 4 built-in fine tuners, one for each string, allowing students and musicians to make precise, fine adjustments to the tuning.
