Giorgos Diamantis was born in 1942 in Lamia. In his early steps in music, his teacher was Alekos Ainian. From the moment music began to be a life goal for him, he became a student at the Athens Conservatory with the academic Menelaos Pallantios as his teacher. For several years, he obtained degrees in Singing, Harmony, and Counterpoint under his guidance. He then settled in Paris where he studied composition with Pierre Lentier at the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique, earning a Fugue diploma. At the same time, he studied Musicology and Philosophy at the University of Paris. Now a graduate, he served for one year as charge de court of the Department of Philosophy, where he taught: "What is Music and what is its role in today's society."
He has written many educational music books that are taught in conservatories across our country. His compositions have been performed over time by distinguished performers. Since 1978, he has been teaching Advanced Theory at the Athens Conservatory.
