It seems like a game of chance, but it is clearly a game of strategy. The more people play it simultaneously, the more fun it is. We played with grandparents who had never played anything other than backgammon and they asked us every night during the summer to play again and again. It's super easy - you have some cards in your hand and each time you play a card, you place the corresponding marker in its place on the board. Your goal is to make a sequence of 5 markers before the other players. The jokers are wild cards and can be used to add or remove markers. It's okay with 2 players, but with 3 or more it becomes very intense and unpredictable. I recommend it for everyone - even for the elderly!
