Yuzu is a citrus fruit cultivated and revered in Japan. Visually similar to a lemon but with a strong aroma, unique herbaceous notes, light bitterness, and a less intense sour taste. Gin Yuzu is born from a base of local barley distilled into traditional shōchū. The Shōchū is then redistilled with juniper, yuzu, local citrus fruits, and botanicals, respecting the 1500-year tradition of yuzu cultivation and harvesting in Japan. The taste of yuzu is sour and aromatic, reminiscent of lemon and grapefruit, with notes of mandarin.
