Few words about the book

For every woman who has ever felt trapped; a funny, raw, and empowering story about the mid-life crisis. Creator, mother, lover, and social media phenomenon, Tova Leigh explores what the hell you are supposed to do when you find yourself living a life you don’t remember signing up for.

“I didn’t want to 'dress like a mom,' drive a 'mom car,' have a 'mom haircut,' or be someone's mom on the other end of a phone call. And I felt completely alone! I had friends; other women, other mothers; yet for some reason, I didn’t have anyone to talk to about any of this.

Wherever I looked, I saw women seemingly living the suburban dream: two kids and a messy minivan, vacations once a year, dinner parties, and yoga every Tuesday morning for 'me time.' I wanted to vomit over all of that. The truth is, when I looked in the mirror, I had no idea who I was anymore. What I saw was, at best, a faded version of me, the one I was before I had kids and before I completely lost myself. I panicked, thinking that I was slowly approaching mid-life and menopause, and wondered how many more years I had left to be 'desirable' before everything started to go downhill.”

In her first book, Tova takes readers along on her journey to rediscover who she is after motherhood and beyond the rules society imposes on women, encouraging them to break free and simply be themselves.

“When you find authenticity, it’s hard to go back. It’s like opening a door to the truth and starting to breathe a new kind of air. This discovery propelled me to write. It’s my way of saying I AM HERE.”
