I wanted to get a Stihl... I already have the 170 and it's a beast.... I wanted a bigger one with a 45-50 cm bar, but for Stihl, it would cost around 400 euros... with reservations, I got it from a dealer here on the island where you don't have many options.... first impression, the quality is quite inferior... the first negative I noticed immediately is that the on-off button is terrible quality, I think it will break soon.... by itself... but okay, this can be resolved with a sturdier button.... other than that, I've done a few cuts, a total of half an hour from five-minute uses where I cut logs on a saw horse into smaller pieces for the stove, and it's just fine.... it has enough power... if you use the choke correctly, meaning to keep it open, crank it 2-3 times until it starts, and then close the choke and it starts immediately.... I can say it starts quite easily like the Stihl. I got it because I found it on a 30% discount, meaning from 180 I got it for 120.... and since I won't use it much... at first, it seemed heavy, but I eventually got used to it.... for 120 euros, I think it will cover me for the occasional use I want... maybe the chain needs better quality.
update 26/1/2025. third year and its end has come.... I believe I am largely to blame.... as I have been cutting vertically for the last 2 weeks, so I don't tear with the axe and my whole body hurts afterward.... we're talking about cutting almost the length of the bar, meaning 40-45 cm for 10-15 minutes non-stop, and even though the exhaust got hot, I didn't stop.... at some point, the handbrake melted near the exhaust, which is logical.... I removed the brake..... and the next day I continued.... at the same pace.... for 10-15 minutes it was running full throttle non-stop...... suddenly it started to misfire and stall..... I changed the spark plug.... because I thought that was the issue....... I continued the next day until it suddenly stalled for the last time.... I went to pull the starter and there was no compression at all..... I saw a crack near the outer part of the piston and I understood..... if it had spare parts, I would say it's a very good choice.... without spare parts, it essentially makes it a one-time use.... if something breaks, that's it.... but for 3 years, I have been cutting non-stop from the forest to the house in small pieces for the stove..... at least 12-15 cubic meters every year...... RIP NAKAYAMA...... I think it held up quite well....
