The person who gave one star has no idea about pencils and sharpeners. YES, at first it may seem much inferior in appearance compared to the Staedtler equivalent, but M+R does not produce debris, but quality, and it is also a German company specialized in sharpeners.
This specific one has extra bases to accommodate ALL pencils, while the Staedtler one has ONLY ONE slot for one pencil. It may produce a slightly shorter tip, but that is also a positive thing because with Staedtler, whether you choose the sharp or the sturdy one, both come out super sharp and break immediately upon writing, even if you have a light hand! So I prefer it for these two reasons! I have had both for decades, not just one...
P.S. If it squeaks when you turn it, then open it by pulling up the black cap and put a drop of oil on the top of the axis. Put the cap back on and you are ready for hundreds, if not thousands, of sharpenings!

ΥΓ Αν σσας τρίξει καμία την ώρα που τη γυρνάτε,, τότε ανοίξτε τη τραβώντας πάνω το μαύρο καπάκι. και βάλτε μία σταγόνα λάφι, πάνω στη κορυφή του άξονα. Ξαναβάλτε το καπάκι και είστε έτοιμη, για εκατοντάδες, αν όχι χιλιάδες ξυσίματα!!!
