Description

Description

The Kingston FURY Beast is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in video and image editing, designers, and those who require high performance from their computer.

DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 2133MT/s to 4800MT/s, latency (CAS Latency) from CL 9 to CL 22, while its capacity has increased up to 32GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for latency (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above characteristics must be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The Kingston FURY Beast provides a speed of 3200MT/s, with CL16 and 16GB per memory module.

Compatibility

DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake series processors and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, is available on certain RAM memories, and is supported by certain motherboards.

The Kingston FURY Beast DDR4 RAM has (XMP 2.0) profiles with performances:

  • Speed (XMP 2.0): 3200 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP 2.0): 16-18-18
  • Voltage (XMP 2.0): 1.35V

Cooling & Design

The aluminum construction material combined with the memory height of 34.1mm, which is an ideal size to fit large CPU coolers, helps to keep the memory and the entire computer at a fairly low temperature even during the most demanding operations.

After about 2+ years, my G.Skill Ripjaws broke down (until then they were running just fine) and I ended up with these as a good solution from a well-known brand.

I've had them for 8 months now and they run at 3200 without any issues and efficiently, stable Kingston value and VfM.

I wanted to upgrade from 32GB to 64GB and I got these memory sticks because the HX432C16FB3AK2/32 that I already had have been discontinued. Based on specifications, they are identical and from the same manufacturer, just the branding has changed. However, the new ones have Nanya chips compared to the old ones that have Hynix. This results in me having difficulty selecting XMP1 at 3200MHz and it not posting. Even at 3000MHz, I might get blue screens. With some trial and error in changing slots, it might work, but I can't be sure in all cases. At default SPD (2400), I had no issues. I should emphasize that the motherboard (AORUS B560M) might also be selective.

I bought it for the "Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2 (rev. 1.0) Motherboard ATX with AMD AM4 Socket" and it works great, and XMP has been tested and works fine (at least on the latest BIOS version FF).

Note, the motherboard I received was rev 1.5 and not what was stated in the description, so I'm not sure if there is an issue with earlier revisions.

Short memory modules, most tower coolers shouldn't be a problem in my opinion.
