“Traversal” is a nautical term that means sailing against the direction of the wind to avoid the ship being struck by waves on its sides. It is a course that ships take with the full power of their engines when every other route is dangerous.
The “Political Traversal” is a collection of texts, from 1989 to 2010, that share the common characteristic of being at the opposite end of the ideas and opinions that prevailed in Greek society during the period of the Late Metapolitics. In this sense, they can be considered as heretical views for the time period they were expressed, regardless of their subsequent acceptance, as has occurred in several instances.
The political tradition to which the Author belongs represented a different version of post-dictatorship Greece, largely a lost opportunity in relation to the past, but a hope for the future, to lead our homeland out of its current deadlock. Thus, in the present circumstances, the political traversal is not only sailing against the “late metapolitics,” but against the Greece of bankruptcy.
