A group of seasonal shepherds from Ilia in the mid-19th century, after leaving their makeshift huts and building the village of Chavari, promptly took care of the "shelter of knowledge" for their children, by founding and operating the A’ Private Primary School in a privately-owned building in 1890.
The beginning had been made, and local education continued to develop functionally and in infrastructure, coordinated with national reforms and supported by the visions and actions of the younger generations, in whose veins runs the blessed ancestral DNA, with the latest being the claim and construction of a modern Gymnasium building in 1997.
The early intuition and strong faith of the first settlers and their descendants in the value of knowledge and, by extension, education highlighted significant human intellectual potential, from which emblematic exemplary personalities emerged, capable of inspiring the youth —and not only— with the essence of their virtuous life and character, the pursuit of knowledge, the selfless love for their neighbor, and their inexhaustible endurance in the face of life's hardships and unpredictable trials.
This book is addressed to those who are anxious, amidst globalization, about the fate of small local and regional communities.
