The new Shimano filament follows a new manufacturing technique, the pioneering Japanese VT tight weave construction, which greatly aids in creating a powerful filament while making it very smooth. The tight weave is created by applying high tension in opposite directions during the braiding process.

In the VT manufacturing method, the fibers are woven uniformly at all angles, resulting in a smoother finish, reduced diameter, and great durability over time.

Thus, the smooth finish creates less friction through the guides, minimizing noise and giving us the opportunity to practice dynamic fishing with very long casts, high knot strength for big fish, without losing anything in sensitivity and smoothness.
