    I bought it to replace an older and lower quality one which had a depth of 16mm. The Stanley has a depth of 12mm. BUT the adjustable plate is narrower (and the fixed one is also narrower) which results in the cylinder protruding and damaging the flooring. The damage it causes is about three millimeters! In the end, I have a second new tool and I'm using the first one.
