Fantastic performance for 1080p runs smoothly and 1440p, but I think it's too much for anyone to get it for another year, I bought it for 647€ and luckily because the prices went up again and I don't regret it

It was purchased about a year ago for approximately €550. However, the card is incredible and worth it. With a custom profile in MSI Afterburner, where you can control the fan RPM, I managed to keep it below 70oC under any process. Whether we're talking about gaming or applications like AutoCAD and Inventor, it performs exceptionally well. Note: I had tested it with a slight overclock and even then, it didn't present any temperature issues.

First, let’s start with the obvious. Purchase price €720 in August 2021 was quite reasonable for the period, as there were no stock available. Is €720 worth it for the performance? If you were thinking of a 2019 purchase, no; if you were thinking of a 2021 purchase, then yes.
Temperatures in a midi tower with water cooling on the CPU: 70 degrees max and it’s not particularly loud.
    Rest of PC:
8600k, 32GB RAM, 750W Thermaltake power supply, old (analysis for the power supply below)
Performance in games at 2K resolution
Cyberpunk everything ultra 45-50 fps without Ray Tracing, 70-80 fps without Ray Tracing with DLSS Quality
Battlefield 5 everything ultra without Ray Tracing 100-120+ fps in multiplayer
I’ve only done a little overclocking on the memory because the power limit doesn’t go above 100%
    Power supply:
(note: the card has one 8-pin PCI power cable)
    tldr
Because it’s old, even though it’s above Nvidia’s recommended wattage, it can’t run the card at full power.
    Analysis:
Thermaltake 750W Gold, around 2010-2012, a beast BUT.
The power supply has 4 rails, each delivering a max of 215W, and the card’s maximum is 200W. However, RTX 3000 cards at times when they are under heavy load draw more power than that and thus trigger the power supply’s overcurrent protection because they exceed the rail limit. This also happens with newer Seasonic Focus series power supplies. A possible solution is a combination of 2 6-pin PCI cables from different rails into 1 8-pin so the power is shared and the PC doesn’t shut off. The card works normally up to 85% of its power limit.

Beast, incredible card!! A bit visually unappealing for my taste, but it's not a big deal. I've seen it perform well in terms of performance. I paired it with a gaming system with Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM 3200MHZ, SeaSonic Focus 550W power supply (it says it requires at least 650, but it works perfectly fine in this specific system. My advice is to consult the PSU Calculator).
In terms of temperatures, it has reached a maximum of 72 degrees after several hours of gaming with heavy titles. Don't worry if you see the fans not spinning. They start when the temperature starts to rise.
In terms of price, I rushed and bought it for €647. My advice is to wait a bit longer in case the prices drop further.

  • Beast, incredible card!!
