We chose it because it was the only available branded power supply at that price. However, we were quite satisfied with its quality and features. The problem is that it is quite an old model now (it says "haswell ready" on the box). It offers fewer years of warranty compared to newer models from the same company, and the price increased by 5 euros as soon as we bought it...

I use it in an HTPC with a Q9400, 8GB DDR2, RX460, SSD, HDD, and 3 fans (as well as a fan controller). It doesn't make a sound and has been extremely stable for the 2.5 years I've had it. I don't know if I would recommend it for gaming (since it's hard to test something like that on an HTPC), but for ~45€ that I paid back then, it was a steal.
Additionally, it is semi-modular, which is a must for building systems with little space for cable management :)
Edit: Sometime in 2024, this particular power supply expired. Well, it served its purpose for its price. :)

After 7 years, I have no complaints at all, I would buy it again easily! I have it in a mid-range gaming pc.

I have it for 2 years on the 2nd computer I have at home and it performs great, it is neither noisy nor does it heat up too much. For its price, it is very good, it has quality construction and it shows from the packaging and its contents. At 50 euros, it is one of the best choices in the market and Thermaltake is reliable in power supplies!

With regular use and a bit of gaming, after the warranty expired, it short-circuited and smelled burnt. Unfortunately, it also burned the motherboard, RAM, and graphics card. In other words, there is no protection for the remaining computer components, with the damage exceeding 300 euros...

I bought this specific power supply in November 2015. After about 2.5 years (summer 2018), the computer started rebooting during gaming, at random times. Specifically, it would shut down abruptly as if someone unplugged it from the socket, and then turn back on by itself. Gradually, the problem became worse, occurring more frequently and not just during gaming, but also during simple tasks. Strangely, it wouldn't shut down during benchmark tests. I tried booting from different drives, removing the graphics card, running a memory test for the RAM, but to no avail. After searching online, I found that the problem was likely due to either overheating or the power supply. There was definitely no overheating issue in the system, as I had checked the temperatures, so I bought a new power supply and the problem disappeared.

I was expecting slightly better quality in the cables, but overall it is very good for the price. The fan is the only thing that can be heard on my computer and it is quite audible because the unit is on the desk, maybe I got a faulty one because many people say it is silent.
- 17/7/2020 Edit: I installed an Arctic F14 PWM PST CO 140mm fan and it finally became quiet.

It is too early to judge the power supply because I haven't had it for a week yet, but you can't find a thermaltake with bronze certification and 530w and semi modular for 53 euros anywhere! The cable management with the detachable cables was very easy! The noise is at satisfactory levels, almost silent. Something that surprised me, not that it bothers me, is that when I plug the power supply into the power, there is no light indicating that it is on!

The power supply was purchased in 2017 for the then Ryzen 1600 system I built.
I kept it until a week ago without encountering any problems.

It was changed because I also changed the entire PC and needed a bigger one.

Very good power supply with excellent performance, the semi modular plays a big role in the case space from the best choices in terms of money

It can handle an average gaming system but not for heavy use. Especially for graphics card side, I wouldn't recommend it for anything that requires 8pin and above (not even for the 630 model).
I consider it suitable for power requirements of cards like 1060.

I have used it in 4-5 systems and it hasn't presented any problems as I pair it with cards like 1050-1050ti and an i5 / Ryzen 5. People I know who used it with heavier systems (mainly graphics card) experienced issues, so I wouldn't recommend it.

In conclusion, one of the best budget power supplies with certifications, 3-year warranty, nice cables, modular, and cheap. I recommend it.

It handles everything comfortably so far. For a budget system, there is no better power supply. It is affordable and has plenty of connections. Only the basic cables are built-in, which you will use anyway. That is, the ones for the motherboard. You can choose all the others according to your devices.

I had it for three and a half years (my system rarely shuts down) and recently it crashed in a spectacular way, causing damage to the rest of the machine. This is something I never experienced with two other no-name ones that I "pushed to the limit".

The psu is perfect and at this price there is no competition. Just the fact that it is semi-modular is worth it. It also has black flat cables and not the ugly ketchup and mustard color scheme.

One of the best purchases I have made.
I have installed it in my HTPC and I have only positive things to say.

Very good power supply as long as I have it, it has never given me any problems. What can I say, in general, I have been very satisfied with Thermaltake. And generally, the price of the power supply at 58 euros is considered very good. Instead of buying a Chinese one of questionable quality for 20 euros, it is better to have this one and have peace of mind. The last time I bought a Chinese one, after 1-2 months of use, at some point I saw smoke coming out and I was shocked. Since then, no more experiments for me, especially with the power supply, which I consider the most important component in a computer system.
